  • Grated Coconut: (Nariyal) 1/2 cup, fresh is best, but frozen works too.
  • Onion: (Pyaaz) 1 medium, finely chopped.
  • Green Chilies: (Hari Mirch) 2-3, finely chopped (adjust to your spice level, boss!).
  • Ginger: (Adrak) 1/2 inch piece, grated.
  • Curry Leaves: (Kadhi Patta) 1 sprig.
  • Mustard Seeds: (Rai) 1 teaspoon.
  • Urad Dal: (Split Black Gram) 1 teaspoon.
  • Turmeric Powder: (Haldi) 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Coconut Oil: (Nariyal Tel) 2 tablespoons.
  • Salt: (Namak) To taste.

Let’s Get Cooking! (Instructions)

  1. Tadka Time: Heat coconut oil in a kadai or pan over medium heat. Once hot, add mustard seeds. Let them splutter and dance!
